RFP authorized

The Bedford City Council approved by 4-3 vote to pursue outsourcing the Bedford Public Library even though their advisory board presented research and recommendations against it and many residents spoke against it saying it would be a waste of staff time and tax money. Council members expressed that they were elected on a minimize expenditures platform and thus felt they must vote for the RFP. However, there has been little if any visible public support for that position as it relates to the library and, in fact, many of the voters who elected them thought they were supporting the library by voting for them. A Request for Proposal will be developed under the leadership of Charles Orean.
